long time no see.

Holy crap it's been a long time since I've posted anything!  I'm about to graduate in May.  

I just built a computer and it's pretty awesome.

BACK TO THE GYM

So I'm happy to report that I have been to the gym today and it was glorious.  The combination of my frighteningly high heart rate, a lightheaded feeling of euphoria, and the fact that my muscles haven't gotten a true workout in weeks (dare I say months) - proved AWESOME. 

Combine that with the facts that 1) I got off work super early this morning, and 2) it was a beautiful day outside, and I ended up with what turned out to be a great day, although it's not completely over yet!  (as I write this, it's 7pm and I have to work at 6am tomorrow, so indeed it is windging down)

I am going to try and keep track of my progress on this blog as well as facebook, and also maybe get some training help from my buddy Santiago (who knows a lot more about being healthy and working out than I do).  Part of this will also require me to cut back on my food intake.  I am exceptionally talented when it comes to scarfing down carb and fat laden meals with relative ease, so I think getting used to eating less more healthy food will be a little difficult, to say the least.

Anywho - here was the routine I did for my first day back.

65 Minutes of cardio on the treadmill, going back and forth between 3.5 and 5 miles per hour, in intervals.  Also the machines was elevated 8 degrees most of the time accept for cooldown.  This provided for about a sixteen minute mile and an average of about 600 calories per minute.  I burned 600 calories, went 3.48 miles, and it took me 65 minutes, including cooldown.

Biceps - Standing arm curls in three sets.  First set 12 reps, second 10, last 8.  Weights increased as such - 20lb, 22.5lb, 25, according to each set.

Shoulders - Standing shoulder fly with same reps and increases in weight.  12, 10, 8.  15lb, 17.5lb, 20lb.

Triceps - Standing pull down with same reps and increases in weight.  12, 10, 8.  50lb, 60lb, 70lb.

I'll figure out the next step of my workout when I go either tomorrow or monday.  Next workout will focus on cardio and chest/back.  Not sure yet what I want to focus on or what will be the best rotation.

rounding out my stay...

So I've only got about a month left before I start packing up and getting ready to leave this city...  Not sure how I feel about the whole situation.  I was super stoked to leave for the longest time but I think part of me is going to miss this place.  Who knows, I might even end up back here at some point, I mean I am getting a degree in advertising and this is the mecca of advertising at least as far as Virginia is concerned. 

I sold my Canon 1D Mark IIN a few weeks ago and I'm having a bit of sellers remorse.  It's not like I have any lenses left to work with it anyway, but a part of me is a bit sad to part with almost all of my camera equipment.  The last few years I haven't really had the drive to shoot photos anymore, not sure if it's an environmental thing or what, but I think I still have the urge, somehwere.  The last of my camera equipment is this guy:

Don't think I'll be getting rid of him anytime soon but I suppose if I need the money and I'm in a crunch I'll have to.  This camera is just so beautiful, it's like a piece of art, and even if I never use it I'd be upset to sell it. 

Anyway, I'll be back in Charlottesville by the end of July.  I'll hopefully have an internship lined up for the Fall, I really need to knock that out.  I'm also hoping to transfer back and work at Keswick Hall (my old haunt), but we'll see if The Jefferson can parlay a position for me.  If not it'll be job hunting again. 

Living with the parents is going to be a little odd having been on my own for 2.5 years.  I'm just crossing my fingers that it will be very temporary.  I hope to have a degree in hand and possibly employed by the time summer rolls around next year. 

I think I might bike out to Belle Isle sometime this week and relax, maybe bring a book.  It really sucks that my Kindle broke.  Well I'm off to watch some TV and chill, I have to be up at 5:00am tomorrow so that's going to kind of blow.  The day probably won't be busy either but I'll make the best of it.

south carolina bound

Heading down to SC to watch my brother graduate with his MBA.  I'm really looking forward to getting a little beach time and relaxing for a couple days.  Although the semester isn't completely over for me (still one exam left) it'll be nice to get away.

IT'S BEEN 3 MONTHS AHHHHHH

Ok, so I don't update this as often as I'd like to.

I just knocked out a couple games of starcraft 2.  Played a coop game against computer and ROFL stomped them.  Then tried a random 3v3 and got my ass (and the other two guys I was playing with) kicked by a few diamond level players.  I'm only in gold as it is and diamond is two steps up so I feel pretty good about that.  i was also able to keep up on production and army with the diamond guy so booya.

A friend of mine on facebook mentioned this song in his status and since listening to it I CAN'T STOP!  It's so addictive.  The lyrics are great and the music video just grows on you (or at least me) pretty hardcore.

BAHHHHH

It's been so long since I've posted on here.  I'm dragged down with this other blog and work and school and blah blah blah.  Excuses, excuses.  

MLG Orlando is this weekend so when I'm not working I'll be watching that.  Maybe they'll be time for some school work because I do have a couple things due next week.
